Most people don't realize how bad dementia and Alzheimer's can get until it's happening to someone they love. I'm Frazer, founder of Down to Ground. Dementia and Alzheimer's come up in our community more than anything else. So my team and I took time off to do the research properly, since almost nobody gets told this stuff. 10% of US adults aged 65 and older now have some form of dementia. Another 22% already have mild memory problems. That is a whopping 12.8 million people. And why is it now so rampant in America? In 2021, Séverine Sabia and a medical team at University College London and Paris followed almost 8,000 people for about 25 years. The ones who were already sleeping 6 hours or less at 50, and again at 60, were more likely to be told they had dementia later. And if those short nights never stopped, the chance was about a third higher. In other words, short sleep in your 50s and 60s is one of the biggest drivers of dementia later in life. Note this, we will come back to it. In 2025, a big review in PLOS put 16 insomnia studies together. More than 9 million people participated. People with insomnia had a higher chance of dementia and Alzheimer's. A Korean study found the same thing, and people with insomnia were more likely to end up in long-term care after they were diagnosed. This confirms that insomnia does 2 things. One, it is also one of the key reasons why dementia progresses to the stage where people become aggressive. Two, it tells us that people with insomnia have a 60% higher chance of getting diagnosed with dementia in the future. Note this too, we will come back to it. Have you ever heard about cortisol? Doctors and scientists call it the stress hormone. Cortisol is supposed to fall at night so you can sleep. But in 2020, a review in Ageing Research Reviews of a whopping 57 studies found morning cortisol higher in people who already had Alzheimer's than in people who did not. And then in the ADNI memory clinic group, high cortisol was discovered to be the highest driver of memory loss in people who already had the dementia diagnosis. So that's 3 things: 1. Short sleep is one of the biggest drivers of dementia later in life. 2. Insomnia makes dementia more likely, and it pushes it to the stage where people become aggressive. 3. High cortisol drives memory loss in people who already have dementia. So if sleep health and cortisol are this important in controlling dementia and Alzheimer's, why isn't Big Pharma telling us this? Why are they setting up more memory care facilities and old people's homes instead? Market research firms like Nova One Advisor value the US memory care market at $8.15 billion, projecting it to reach $13.79 billion by 2035. Where do you think all that money will come from? Your pocket, of course. Companies like Down to Ground are taking it upon ourselves to study these patterns, and to test the natural solutions the government has refused to fund. And guess what? They have worked like magic. That is why the next study matters. In 2022, a hospital team in Taiwan worked with people who had mild Alzheimer's and were already on the usual medicine. 22 people joined and 15 stayed to the end. Half of them sat with bare feet on a mat that was plugged into the ground. The other half sat on the same mat with a cord that went nowhere. Nobody in the room knew which cord was plugged in. They did this for 30 minutes, 5 days a week, for 12 weeks. Then they asked both groups about their sleep. Same quiz, same questions. The people on the plugged-in cord were sleeping better. The people on the cord that went nowhere were not. Same quiz, and the gap was clear. They asked about worry too, and that barely moved. But the plugged-in group said their mood was better, as well as their sleep. Then in 2025, a team at Texas Tech went through the grounding research and wrote about Alzheimer’s. They said poor sleep, stress and swelling in the brain all come with this disease. And they said grounding is a simple thing to add. So let me ask you. Do you believe grounding can do all of this for someone with dementia or Alzheimer’s? You probably still don’t. So listen to this. In 2004, Dr. Maurice Ghaly and Dale Teplitz published a study where people slept grounded for 8 weeks. They measured cortisol overnight. The grounded sleepers’ cortisol patterns shifted back toward normal. They reported better sleep, better mood and less agitation. It was published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine. Then in 2012, a team led by Dr. Gaétan Chevalier measured what happens the instant your body makes contact with the earth. The electrical charge sitting on your body drops immediately. So here’s what the research supports. 1 - Short and broken sleep make dementia and Alzheimer’s worse. 2 - Insomnia on its own can raise the risk of dementia, even in healthy people. Think about what it does to someone who’s already been diagnosed. It could shorten the time they have left. 3 - High cortisol drives the memory loss, stress, agitation and aggression that can turn a loving parent violent towards the faces they know best. And guess what? Grounding has been studied for its effect on all three. For a condition with no cure, where sleep is one of the few natural levers that genuinely moves, I think that’s worth knowing about. Here’s what one of our customers, Henry, wrote to us. I’m sharing it exactly as he sent it: “My uncle used to get up at midnight, walk the hall, scream, and try to leave the house. He got angry and he would not take his food or his meds, so we started looking for a place that could handle him. I read about grounding, and we put the Down to Ground cover under his sheet. Now he stays in bed more, watches TV, and uses the bathroom by himself. His blood pressure dropped a lot too.” The Down to Ground mattress cover is woven with conductive carbon fibre, so it actually conducts, and it keeps conducting for years. It goes under your fitted sheet, so you never have to wash it. That makes it even easier for someone with dementia. Everything’s in the box, including a free conductivity tester, so you can check the connection yourself instead of taking my word for it. Anyone who knows grounding knows one wash can strip up to 40% of the grounding properties from a grounding product. So we designed ours to never need washing at all. Right now it’s 42% off with free shipping. This week only. We’ve sold out before when demand picked up. If dementia, Alzheimer’s and broken sleep have been ruining your family, this is one of the simplest things left to try. Tap the link below to get yours.
