I told a student yesterday not to book another session with me. She looked at me like I was crazy. She said: "But I need more help." I said: "You don't need more help. You need different help. And I can't give you what you actually need in a $50/hour session." I'm an NCLEX tutor. 8 years. And that was the most honest thing I've ever said to a student. ======== Here's why I said it. She's failed the NCLEX twice. She came to me 4 sessions ago. I reviewed content with her. Medications. Disease processes. Priority frameworks. She knows all of it. She knew it before she walked in. 4 sessions later she doesn't need a 5th. She needs to go home and study with something that teaches how the test thinks. Not more content from me. The thinking skill. And that's not something I can effectively teach in an hour a week. That takes daily practice. At home. On her own. With the right prep. ======== Most tutors won't say this. Because saying "don't book another session" means losing income. But I watched this woman spend money she doesn't have on sessions that teach her things she already knows. And I couldn't take another $50 from her knowing the answer is something she can do at home for less. ======== I told her about NCLEXready. $59. Complete bundle. Study guides, practice questions, rationales. I told her: "Go home and get this. Study with it every day. The study guides break down how the test actually builds questions. The rationales show you what each question is really asking and why your brain keeps going the wrong way. That daily practice is what's going to pass you. Not another hour with me." ======== I'm posting this because there are graduates right now booking sessions they don't need. Buying courses that teach what they already know. Spending money because they think more help means more content. It doesn't. It means the right prep at home. Practiced daily. Until the test makes sense. NCLEXready is what I recommend for that. I've reviewed it. I've sent students home with it. The ones who used it consistently passed. The rest is up to you. ======== EDIT: Oops a lot of you have been messaging me saying I forgot to add the link for NCLEXready. I'll leave it below. ======== EDIT 2: She messaged me today. She passed. 3 weeks with NCLEXready at home. She said: "You were right. I didn't need another session. I needed this." I've never been happier to lose a client. https://nclex-ready.com/products/nclex-rn-bundle
