Atlantic Rancher ad: New Arrival: Bayman's Herringbone Gingham Flannel Shirt

A new twist on a 25yr. vintage classic. The Bayman’s Shirt debut in our fall 1998 catalog nearly 25yrs ago. For many years, this shirt was offered in just two colors, blue and burgundy, both in a gingham weave pattern. This year, we expanded the assortment to include a herringbone weave pattern, in five colors and a Buffalo Plaid in three color. Several things haven’t changed: - The yarn for our Bayman’s Shirt is spun in Portugal from US and Egyptian-grown, long staple Pima cotton, which results in an ultra-soft fabric. - Once spun, we construct a “twisted yarn”, from 2 stands of 30-gauge yarn, that once woven results in a stronger fabric with little to zero “halo” or fuzzies on the surface. - Our yarn is then dyed, and various colors come together on the loom where we apply a herringbone weave resulting in a 7 oz. weight fabric that is then brushed finished on both sides. - Our fabric is woven in Portugal, in the same mill that spins our yarn. Today, most fabric is fully produced in China and India then imported to a host country and “converted” into goods labeled made in the host country. -Our shirts are made in a small, family-owned and operated shop in Portugal that built our original Bayman’s Shirt. Oh, and they make only one thing: the world’s finest shirts. That’s it. No pants, no suits, no outerwear…just shirts.
