It is still here, and with the festive season ahead, this is a good moment to come back. New fabrics arrive on the site every day, and the length you had your eye on is still ready to cut. What iTokri is: an inventory-led, curated platform for handmade textiles. Every fabric you see is already in our own store, checked by hand, ready to ship the same week. Nothing is drop-shipped, and your order will not be cancelled later for being out of stock. We buy directly from the artisans who weave and print the cloth, more than 10,000 of them across over 500 craft clusters, and we have done this from Gwalior since 2012. Q: Is this really handmade? A: Yes. Every length is woven on a handloom or printed by hand, so the weave and the print carry small differences from one metre to the next. That irregularity is the mark of a human hand, not a defect. A machine repeats itself perfectly. An artisan does not. Q: Will the fabric look like it does on my screen? A: Every photo on the site is the actual fabric, shot in daylight. It is never a rendered image and never a stock photo, so what you see is the cloth you will receive. If you want to be completely sure before you order, message us on WhatsApp and we will send a short daylight video of the exact piece, with its drape and texture, so you decide with your own eyes. Q: Will I have enough to stitch what I have in mind? A: Tell us the garment on WhatsApp and we will give you the exact metres. A standard kurta takes about 2.5 metres, a little more for a longer or plus-size cut. Because the cloth is dyed by hand in small lots, we always send the extra metres from the same lot, so the colour stays true across your whole piece. Q: Is it expensive, and is there a better price anywhere? A: There is one honest number, and it is the same on the website, on WhatsApp, and on Instagram, every day of the year. What you pay reflects the days an artisan spent at the loom or the printing table. We do not run two prices, so you never have to wonder whether you are missing a better one elsewhere. Q: I have seen similar fabric for less. Why buy here? A: Much of the lookalike cloth is mill-made and only called handloom. Ours is woven or printed by the artisan who made it, and we can tell you the craft and the region it comes from. Hold the two together and you will see the difference in the weave and the hand of the cloth. Q: I have not ordered from iTokri before. Can I trust it? A: We have shipped handmade textiles from Gwalior since 2012, and we work directly with the artisans who make them. Search iTokri and read what customers say, look through the daily photos on Instagram, and if the fabric is still not right when it arrives, you can send it back. The risk sits with us, not with you. Q: How does shipping work? A: We pack every order by hand and dispatch within a couple of days. Most orders reach you within five to seven days, anywhere in India, and cash on delivery is available, so you can pay when the parcel reaches your door. We ship worldwide too, which helps if you are sending something to family abroad for the festival. Q: What if I change my mind? A: You have seven days from delivery to return the fabric. Our own team in Gwalior handles it on WhatsApp, in Hindi or English, so you are talking to a person, not a form.
