We’re excited to share a recent project, and new mug we’ve been working on - “The Lost Idol of the Monkey Chieftain”, which was designed by @jeffgranitodesigns and is for @tikitomswc One of the most fun things we do when it comes designing new mugs is working with others in the Tiki community. In this case the great folks over at Tiki Tom’s in Walnut Creek, CA had an idea to create a “monkey idol” mug. The idea was that it would eventually play into the backstory and lore they’ve been creating for their amazing bar, and possibly some interactive excitement as well. Jeff Granito saw the vision, and together we brought his design and the Tiki Tom’s concept to life. We don’t want to give away too much at this point in regards to the story and the mystery behind the “The Lost Idol of the Monkey Chieftain”, but we can share this much of it.... They came by sea. No one knows from where. Deep in the jungle, they carved an idol in the image of their Monkey Chieftain, adorned with a lei of leaves and a headdress. It was a bold claim in a land that was not theirs. The people are gone. No record remains of why. But the islanders still speak of the jungle going quiet around the idol. No birds. No wind. Just silence. They say the Monkey Chieftain never left. He simply waits. This mug is about 8 inches tall, and holds a solid 18oz. The mug is currently available at TikiLand Trading Co. (and eventually you’ll be able to get them at Tiki Tom’s as well.)
