The Whisky Barrel : Online Whisky Store ad: Mystery Malt Islay Gold 10 Year Old

Islay Gold 10 Year Old is a richly expressive Islay single malt Scotch whisky from Ian MacLeod, sourced from an undisclosed Islay distillery and matured for 10 years before bottling at 40.0% ABV. The distillery has never been officially disclosed, although it is widely rumoured to be Caol Ila. Offering the unmistakable combination of smoke, maritime salinity and spice associated with classic Islay whisky, this single malt delivers impressive depth and character at an exceptionally approachable price. A decade of maturation has softened and integrated the whisky’s intense peated spirit, creating a layered balance of smouldering smoke, sea-salt brine, citrus and honeyed malt.
